In for service on my pickup and I noticed this... Ok, I know they are popular but this is the first time i've noticed up-pricing like this:
For $74,375 I could, and definitely would, buy a FULLY loaded Platinum F250 4wd w/ dealer installed lift, aftermarket wheels/tires (probably 37" tires) and most likely front and rear bumpers w/winch for the cost of this stock Raptor. I'm gonna say crackpipe on this one.
BTW... they had 2 of these, neither with "SOLD" signs. I wonder why?

IS THAT A 15K INCREASE OVER MSRP ASGFHASJDFNVJASDFNOASJD
![]() 06/05/2014 at 11:56 |

Yup. MSRP is $59,xxx for this particular truck. They are asking $74K for it.

That is utter BS and NO dealer should be able to do that!

Sorry. Macanamera is unable to reply due to his brain having exploded.

I bout had a heart attack when I saw that price. You could get a real long travel F-150 for that price.

well, you know that sooner or later some college kid who has more bank then brains is going to come in and buy it on the spot.

Fuck that

Well, I can't really say I'm in on $58K either so makes no difference to me... I love the trucks but not at those prices.
As far as dealer pricing goes, if you are OK with the concept of ebay or a Barrett Jackson auction, this is no different. This is the reserve, let the bidding begin. Of course, I don't see the market bearing this price but... maybe it will.

Tesla won't do this. That's why we need direct sales and no shady dealers!
Do other nearby Ford dealers markup the Raptor?

"adjust market value slut" is right.

Was just coming here to say that I would buy an old F-150, or rather 22RE, and make it into a way more capable off-roader equipped with long travel for quite a bit less than that.

As if the MSRP wasn't laughable enough.
![]() 06/05/2014 at 12:08 |

At that price, it looks like this Raptor's......going extinct....
![]() 06/05/2014 at 12:09 |

22RE FTW
Seriously, a race prepped prerunner for 75k is more than doable.

I was in for service and saw this at my local dealer in Grapevine TX. I have no idea about others.

Or I'd keep my 4th gen 4Runner and prerunner it, because why not?! lol I actually really wanted to do that back when I was still in Arizona. Now that I'm in Illinois, the prerunner doesn't seem as practical. Damn you, snow!

I spent most of my year up in Colorado on tight, tight trails and I still want to LT my truck, haha. I just think it'd be fun to huck it from time to time.
Shit, am I turning in a bro?

$40k gets you a Raptor with a warranty from Carmax too!
![]() 06/05/2014 at 12:16 |

Yeah, it's about the only way I could make my RWD 4Runner awesome. Especially if I threw the TRD supercharger on there.
Yeah, it does make us both a little bit bro. lol

I've thought of that before... I would not pay even pay MSRP, much less 15K over.

Yeah, that shit is CP taken to some sort of other dimension.

The dealership is all like, "Well, we see you'd like to buy a Raptor, but we'll just add on the price of a new base model Fiesta for no reason because PROFITS OMG OMG MONEY MONEY YAY."

LOL fuck adjusted market value

I understand that US dealers are independent, but this kind of thing is ridiculous. The only way for the price to go should be down not up, even if it's a rare(ish) car. In Europe, worst you can do is pay sticker, and if it's a rare car it's first come first served.

When the FR-S was launched, the local dealers had $5000 "market adjustments", too. I don't know if they did it to keep away tire kickers or if people were actually paying. I certainly walked away.

You think that is bad, the dealers in SoCal were tacking on $75,000-125,000 to the stickers of the Ford GT when they were still available.
If I was honestly in the market for a Raptor, and saw that on the sticker I would straight up laugh in the dealers face then go to another dealership.
![]() 06/05/2014 at 21:47 |

There is no way someone in Texas would be stupid enough to pay that much for a Raptor. I know in Houston they aren't marked up that crazy since the truck has been out for like, what? Four years now?
![]() 06/05/2014 at 22:53 |

I understand that the $59k is manufacturer suggested retail price and that some cars demand a premium if they are new or something. Is supply really that low for that kind of premium? Sheesh.

It's especially classy and professional the way they used Sharpie to attempt a gouging.
![]() 06/06/2014 at 16:35 |

Of course. Everyone knows markups written in sharpie must be legitimate and reasonable. Who would even question that?
